BCSA Junior Scholarships

The Border Collie Society of America is proud to offer three Junior Showmanship Scholarships in an effort to support our Junior Members in continuing their post-secondary education and their continued involvement in the BCSA and the Border Collie breed. 

The criteria for awarding the scholarships includes the following: 

 - applicant’s academic achievement and potential 

- applicant’s involvement in the fancy 

- applicant must be a BCSA junior member 

- GPA of at least 3.0 or greater 

- applicant’s financial need 

 The three Scholarships, one for conformation, one for performance sports and one for herding, were created to recognize and encourage our junior members in celebrating our breed’s versatility. Students may apply to more than one scholarship if they qualify but will only be able to receive one. Students must complete an application and send it, along with two letters of recommendation from two BCSA members in good standing and a copy of their school transcripts to the Corresponding Secretary no later than August 1st of each calendar year. The Corresponding Secretary will then forward the applications to the members of the BCSA Junior Committee for review. Final recommendations of the committee will be sent to the BCSA Board of Directors and will be announced at the National Specialty.

Awards for the scholarships are $500 each
